Bitmovin Playback and Live Event Encoder Launch on Google Cloud

Vienna – Austria, October 12, 2022 Bitmovin, a leading provider of video streaming infrastructure, today announced Playback and its Live Event Encoder will be available to customers running on Google Cloud, which is a global infrastructure that includes compute, storage, and machine learning solutions. Playback and Live Event Encoder are Bitmovin’s latest solutions to be added to Google Cloud, as Bitmovin’s Next-Generation VOD Encoding, Video Player, and Analytics products are already available to customers.

Google Cloud customers can now access the following products:

Live Event Encoder: Bitmovin’s Live Event Encoder delivers high-quality streams optimizing Live to VOD workflows, ensuring live streams are available for on-demand playback immediately after the stream has ended. A key differentiator of Bitmovin’s Live Event Encoder is that it provides developers and live event operations teams with a compelling user experience, a web-based interface to manage live streams from any device and any location, and a comprehensive API for deep application integrations. It offers users advanced control and monitoring tools and notification alerts to help pinpoint errors in real-time.

Playback: Playback brings together  Bitmovin’s player, analytics and stream lab products. Playback embeds video playback into mobile, web and big screen applications with automated device testing and optimisations to deliver high-quality viewing experiences. Once deployed, Playback’s integrated video analytics assess the viewing experience and allows streaming services to optimize playback based on real-world conditions.  Diagnosing problems and pushing new configurations (e.g. Digital Rights Management) to viewers is made quicker and more efficient as playback issues and errors are surfaced to developers with automated testing allowing changes to be validated before deployment.

“We are long-standing members of Google’s Partner Advantage program and already run our core products on Google’s cloud infrastructure, so it makes complete sense to make our launch our latest offerings there too,” said Stefan Lederer, Co-Founder and CEO of Bitmovin. “Now Playback and our Live Event Encoder are available as a self-service option on Google Cloud infrastructure; Google Cloud customers can leverage them for their video workflows quickly and more easily.”

Bitmovin’s Playback and Live Event Encoder are available as a fully managed SaaS offering with a free trial, usage-based pay-as-you-go (PAYG), and Private Offer pricing options.
