In the context of the EU FP7 ICoSOLE Project, Bitmovin was part of the demonstration session in Hasselt, Belgium. The consortium presented their highly interesting work of the first project year. Ten technical demos were selected and successfully shown at the event. Each of the individual demonstrators represents an aspect of the ICoSOLE system and proves the validity of the chosen approach and technologies.
We demonstrated our platform agnostic MPEG-DASH client bitdash (now known as Bitmovin HTML5 Player), which showed smooth content consumption in a live/catch-up and on-demand streaming scenario. Our HTML5/JS based solution, as well as our Flash fallback technology was of great interest for the group of reviewers.
bitdash was also integrated in a second demonstration called The Wall of Moments. This social platform displays short video fragments, called Moments, captured by peers attending a festival in order to deliver a unique festival experience to remote users. The demonstration imposingly gave a first impression of the multifacetedness of bitdash and it’s usage scenarios.
All the Best,
a Bitmover called Reinhard.
