Next week, 07.07-11.07.14, Bitmovin’s CIO Christian Timmerer will be attending the 109th Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG) meeting at the Sapporo Convention Center, Japan. As an active member of MPEG standardization Bitmovin regularly  attends the MPEG meetings and contributes to different standardization efforts, such as MPEG-DASH. We also provide a comprehensive review of each MPEG meeting, such as the 108th MPEG meeting in Valencia, Spain.

MPEGs mission is to develop the multimedia standards for coded representation of digital audio and video, as well as related data and the transmission thereof. In its 25 years of activity, MPEG has developed an impressive portfolio of standards and technologies that have created an industry worth several hundred billion US dollars.

Explore MPEG’s white-papers, including the white-paper on MPEG-DASH and the MPEG-DASH tutorial by Bitmovin, as well as a selection of videos about the MPEG standards.

Contact our CIO Christian Timmerer now if  you would like  to meet at the 109th MPEG meeting.
