KroneHit – Austria’s nationwide private radio broadcaster – has deployed Bitmovin’s cloud-based encoding service in combination with our HTML5 MPEG-DASH and HLS player to live stream a studio video feed of KroneHit’s 40 hour marathon fundraising event to support the Child’s Dream Foundation (Stiftung Kindertraum) which aims to increase the quality of life for sick and disabled children.
Feel free to support them by donating!

Service Architecture
This 40 hour charity event is enabled by Bitmovin’s cloud transcoding service and Bitmovin’s HTML5 MPEG-DASH player. Bitmovin is responsible for the transcoding, streaming and playout of the video stream. The live input stream is prepared and delivered by KroneHit, this input stream is transcoded live by our Bitmovin Cloud Encoding Service in five quality representations for MPEG-DASH as well as HLS, and streamed via a CDN to the Kronehit audience. Supporting all devices for web as well as mobile was a key requirement in this project, which is achieved by Bitmovin’s HTML5 Adaptive Streaming Player. All Web-browsers as well as Android and Windows Phone use MPEG-DASH either via HTML5 or Flash, and for iOS a parallel HLS stream is used. Have a look on www.kronehit.at to test the live stream. The live stream is available until December 18, 2 pm CET.
