Our Solutions department is looking for a dynamite Principal Solutions Engineer to be the technical voice of our products in both pre- and post-sales activities as we seek to maximize the value our customers gain from our products in media compression, playback, and analytics.

 

Your Impact

You will make an impact that matters by:

  • Being a technical evangelist for video streaming solutions – influencing and advising the technical decision makers and users within our customer accounts
  • Becoming a trusted advisor to our customers on how they can leverage Bitmovin products to scale, operate, and optimize their direct-to-consumer online video streaming services
  • Supporting revenue growth by owning all technical aspects of the customer journey, from discovery to ‘technical close’ of complex solutions and full product adoption
  • Uncovering customer business problems and discovering unmet technical needs and pain points using well-honed technical discovery practices and targeted questions
  • Determining Bitmovin product fit for prospects and recommending flexible and scalable solutions options
  • Ensuring prospects get the most out of their product trials
  • Liaising closely with customers in a friendly and consultative manner, guiding them through decisions and focusing on their use case successes
  • Work together with Customer Success Managers to prepare,facilitate, and participate in customer-facing quarterly business reviews (QBRs), on-site or remotely
  • Review usage data to discover new opportunities for customers (features, usage)
  • Working with integrations managers to define, present, and gain consensus on implementation scopes of work and deliverables
  • Providing customer training and technical workshops to educate them about Bitmovin products and the latest features
  • Working closely and independently with multiple sellers and account managers to help them achieve company growth objectives
  • Responding to RFPs/RFQs/RFIs in a timely and consultative manner to help prospects better understand Bitmovin products and value offering
  • Completing standardized customer integrations at the time of onboarding
  • Developing customer-facing documentation including how to guides and tutorials
  • Engaging customers in frequent time periods to ensure they have what is required to successfully use the products
  • Identifying potential opportunities for existing customers to get more value out of Bitmovin products they’re already using and also to explore new Bitmovin products
  • Providing competitive intelligence learned during sales conversations to the Product and Customer Success teams
  • Participating in trade shows and marketing events to showcase Bitmovin products
  • Key performance indicators include:
    – # tech evals (started/complete/won)
    – # new logos closed (won/lost)
    – trial CSAT score
    – # accounts onboarded
    – # accounts deployed
    – deployment CSAT score
    – # published content

It would be great if you have experience in

  • Online video streaming technology, particularly commercial OTT implementations
  • Working directly with technical and economic buyers in large enterprise organizations
  • Sales Engineering at a SaaS or cloud-based software company
  • Thoroughly understanding technical concepts being discussed in sales conversations
  • Compelling presentation skills, excellent written skills, and a strong executive presence
  • Interfacing with cross-functional teams and multiple departments, including Sales, Product Marketing, Product Management, and Engineering
  • Knowledge of media workflows, video codecs, online player architectures, or media
  • Using modern programming languages, including at least one of Java, Python, TypeScript, HTML+CSS

It would be even better if you have

  • Worked with Bitmovin technology elsewhere
  • Worked at an existing vendor of media technology products such as encoding or player
  • Worked in a rapidly growing organization, ideally a start-up or scale-up
  • Worked in different parts of the United States
  • A passion for learning, feedback, and continuous improvement
  • Experience as a software developer or experience using APIs and SDKs
