Why does my PlayReady protected content not play in Internet Explorer 11?
There are two reasons why it doesn’t work:
- PlayReady (as well as the HTML5 player in general) is only supported in IE11 on Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 and in Microsoft’s Edge browser.
- Playback of protected content on a compatible system (i.e. Windows 8.1) which runs in a virtual machine does not work. Please make sure you test PlayReady content on a physical Windows 8.1 machine.
